We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will play a pivotal role in accurately assessing project costs and providing essential support to project managers and clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of telecommunications projects, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record in estimating project costs accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding the project scope and requirements thoroughly.
- Identifying key variables for cost estimation and analysis.
- Conducting comprehensive research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc.
- Utilizing QuickBase for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Reviewing offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors to ensure competitiveness.
- Performing risk analysis to identify potential project challenges and mitigate risks.
- Creating and submitting detailed estimate reports or bids to relevant stakeholders.
- Providing expert consultation on project planning, including schedules and manpower requirements.
- Obtaining competitive pricing from subcontractors and vendors to optimize project management efficiency.
- Maintaining accurate records of estimating results and providing data to the management team for analysis and industry trends.
- Following up with customers of unawarded projects to gather feedback for future estimating considerations.
- Supporting regional business development initiatives as directed by the VP of Sales or Operations Presidency.
- Ensuring thorough documentation of all project-related activities and communications.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Estimator or similar role, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
- Familiarity with financial and project management principles.
- In-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods, as well as estimation formulas.
- Exceptional mathematical and IT abilities with a strong analytical mindset.
- Proficiency in relevant software for data analysis and project management.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Thoroughness, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Required Meetings or Coordination:
- Daily calls with Project Managers
- Daily contact with customers
- Weekly safety meeting with all field employees
- Weekly Project Manager meeting with other PM’s, CM’s, and Operations Presidency
- Weekly report to direct manager on status regarding the above listed responsibilities
